Kaufman Welcomes the Democratic Candidates for Attorney General & Treasurer
Representative Jay Kaufman’s award-winning public policy forum, “OPEN HOUSE”, has another special candidate forum in store with “Meet the Candidates: The Race for Attorney General & Treasurer”. The event will be held Tuesday, April 1st, from 7:00PM-9:00PM at Cary Hall on 1605 Massachusetts Avenue in Lexington Center. The forum will feature the Democratic candidates in the Attorney General’s race from 7:00PM-8:00PM, and in the Treasurer’s race from 8:00PM-9:00PM.
On September 16, 2014, Massachusetts voters will go to the polls in a primary election to select the Democratic candidates who will then face their Republican opponents in November. For Attorney General, Maura Healey and Warren Tolman are running. Tom Conroy, Barry Finegold, and Deb Goldberg are all running to be the Commonwealth’s next Treasurer. Maura Healey is a former Assistant Attorney General who ran the Office’s Civil Rights Division. Warren Tolman is a lawyer, former Massachusetts State Senator, and former candidate for Governor. Tom Conroy is a State Representative who was a senior staff aide in the US Senate. Barry Finegold is a Massachusetts State Senator who was also a former State Representative. Deb Goldberg is a former Chair of the Brookline Board of Selectmen who also is active in numerous non-profits and charitable institutions throughout the state.
This forum will give Representative Kaufman’s constituents another excellent opportunity to learn about the candidates’ stance on a wide range of issues and get a sense of who they are, what they stand for, and what their plans are for the next four years to keep these two constitutional offices on the competitive edge. Come hear from the candidates and understand the role and function of the offices of Attorney General and Treasurer. As always, the forum will take its shape largely from questions from the audience. Questions can also be submitted in advance at www.jaykaufman.com, or tweet your questions to @repjaykaufman. Don’t miss this special forum Tuesday, April 1st, from 7:00PM-9:00PM.
In 1997, OPEN HOUSE was awarded the prestigious Beacon Award, cable television’s equivalent of an Emmy, as the nation’s best government relations series. The series was also named the best television series by Massachusetts Cable Television Commission. The OPEN HOUSE series is produced through a partnership between Representative Kaufman and LexMedia which records the forums for broadcast in Lexington and Woburn.
