Last Tuesday, I was joined by a class from Brandeis University, my alma mater, at the State House. Taught by Professor Melissa Stimell, the course Advocacy for Policy Change teaches students about the networks and strategies driving the legislative process. The students met with legislators, staffers, and researchers at the State House to discuss various bills, from the minimum wage to in-state tuition for undocumented immigrants. It was a pleasure to be able to provide this real-world experience and speak to the students about the legislature.
