“Election Re-Cap with Massachusetts DSC & RSC Chairs”

Representative Jay Kaufman’s award winning public policy forum, “OPEN HOUSE”, will dissect and analyze the 2012 national and state elections with invited guests from the Democratic State Committee and Republican State Committee. This forum, the third of the 18th season, will be held Thursday, November 15th, from 7:00PM-8:30PM at the historic Depot in Lexington Center (13 Depot Square in Lexington Center).

Representing the Democratic perspective is Massachusetts Democratic Party Chairman John Walsh. Walsh, a longtime Democratic party activist, served as Field Director of former Congressman Brian J. Donnelly’s campaign for Governor in 1998. In 2002 he was the Campaign Manager for the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign. And in 2006 Mr. Walsh served as Deval Patrick’s Campaign Manager during his successful gubernatorial run. Since 2007, he has been the Chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party.

Invited guest for the Republicans is Robert Maginn, Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party. Before entering politics, he worked for Bain & Company as a management consultant and later as a senior partner, board member, and director. Maginn served as a member of the Republican Board of Governors and of Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, and Peter Torkildsen’s finance committees. In 1998, he was the Republican nominee for Treasurer and Receiver-General of Massachusetts, losing to Democrat Shannon O’Brien. In December 2011, Maginn was elected Chairman of the Massachusetts Republican Party.
