This is a very sad day for me. I learned last night of Senator Ken Donnelly’s death after a noble struggle with cancer. That his last months were lived nobly should surprise no one. His entire life was lived nobly. I had the privilege of working closely with Ken for the past dozen years, although I first met him long before that while he was one of Lexington’s most devoted firefighters. He was a model public servant with brilliant instincts and ability to speak from the heart and pursue his passionate devotion to ideals of social and economic justice while advancing the cause in measured and achievable steps. We will miss his voice, his heart, and his judgment. Ken was a really good man, a great partner, and a treasured friend.
